Born and raised in La Union, Tikboy started surfing young. This passion progressed as he became a surf instructor to eventually owning a surf school named after himself, Tikboy Surf, located along the sand bar of San Juan beach. Still influenced by his passion and curiosity, he slowly took interest in making boards. During his 30s, he started repairing and reshaping boards for Korean surfers. Taking inspiration from another local shaper in La Union, he decided to try and make his own.
Dedication for improvement and constant practice are the key factors to becoming a successful craftsman like himself, so this is also what he would like to impart to other shapers as well as the aspiring ones. He sees the future as an opportunity to keep expanding his knowledge as he gets recognized for his craft.
